Hallo everybody,

today i uploaded a new geometry file to the trunk version of pandaroot.

You can find the geometry file in trunk/geometry/SciTil_varB_201505.root
And the macro which was used to build the file under trunk/macro/scitil/geometry/create_scit_varB_rootgeo.C

Also the standard geometry is still available under trunk/geometry/SciTil_201504.root

This geometry should reflect a more realistic Version of the SciTil detector.

Main difference of this geometry are the scintillating tiles which are now 3 times the size of the original ones.
The precise dimensions can be looked up in the attached table of properties

To build a Super-Module the arrangement was changed.
On each scintillator tile 4 SiPMs are attached on both sides which are connected to one PCB card.
Two of such tiles build one line of a Super-Module.
60 Lines build a Super-Module. The single PCB cards are connected to readout PCB cards which transport the signal to the front end of the detector.

Attached are 3 pictures which show a single line, a Super-Module, and the whole barrel.
One can see the

  • scintillator tiles in blue
  • SiPMs in red
  • PCB (connectors) in yellow
  • PCB (Readout) in green

Regards

Dominik
