Hi Ajay,

then you have a problem with your network. I tried several times and it always works.

Could it be that you have some proxy settings which are wrong or not set for ftp?

For gsl you can work around the problem, because there are also a http server which can be used

curl -O -L http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gsl/gsl-1.16.tar.gz

But we have some packages which are distributed only via ftp, so you have to find your network problem or download the files to some other machine and then copy them to your computer.
