The PANDA DCS Requirements Collection process has started! We have now a Beta version user interface (UI) and requirements database (DB) running at:
http://nuclear.gla.ac.uk/DCS/
Lots of thanks to the Warsaw group for initiating the process and providing the prototype database scheme, and especially to Jaroslaw Szewinski for contributing to the php code. Thanks also to everyone who provided early feedback on the DB structure and UI.
I encourage all detector, target and DAQ groups to start entering meaningful data. I expect lots of comments and feedback in the initial period. Please do not hesitate to send your comments related to: DB structure, user interface (UI), access, browser compatibility issues etc.
Technical info:
We use a MySQL DB and a custom-written PHP interface on top of it. Everything is modular, so slight changes to the DB can be done on the fly. The authentication is using md5 and ensures that we can easily keep track of the PV table changes.
