Hi Tobias,

is that what you want to do ?

(e.g. from the emcsim.C)

CbmRuntimeDb *rtdb=fRun->GetRuntimeDb();
CbmParRootFileIo* output=new CbmParRootFileIo(kParameterMerged);
output->open("simparams.root");
rtdb->setOutput(output);
rtdb->saveOutput();
rtdb->print();

(I just put there the upper part, the more detailed part was written by an unknown author...)
