Hi Ralf, hi Simone,
I also have Mac OS X 10.4.11 (32 bit)
and I installed external package on it,
the latest one from july 2008,
with ROOT 5.20 and it works.
But, indeed, I also had problems.
If you have problem with "bjam", so
probably you have this program in:
~/.../fairsoft/basics/boost-jam/bin.macosxx86/
if yes, then copy it to this directory:
~/.../fairsoft/basics/boost-jam/bin/
and run configuration script again.
