Hi Ola,
As general statement I'd suggest to see what the debugger says:
shell> gdb --args root.exe runRECO2.C
[gdb] run
... error & something
[gdb] bt
(backtracing of the segfault)
[gdb] q

I got around by using PndSttHitProducerReal instead of the ideal one. But then there was no bug with the runRECO2.C.
