Dear Colleagues,
As you are all aware ALICE intends to have a Detector Construction Database (DCDB) where all relevant information from the Deteor side should be stored. This includes any information which is gathered during detector construction.
Because I belive that the DCDB is currently not in a state where it could be used in our collaboration (I will not go into the reasons here), I would like to make sure that everybody collects the information (which is already defined in the Construction Manual) and I would like to propose a common format in which we would provide the data for later storage in the DCDB.

Suggestions are always welcome and I would like to encourage you to complain soon if you find something you don't like.
Once we have converged I will aks the responsible person(s) from each Lab to sign this off to make sure that we all agree on the procedure.
