Dear all,

I updated the Rho package to the last revision.

Working Copy Root Path: /home/prencipe/panda/pandaroot
URL: https://subversion.gsi.de/fairroot/pandaroot/trunk/rho
Repository Root: https://subversion.gsi.de/fairroot
Repository UUID: 0381ead4-6506-0410-b988-94b70fbc4730
Revision: 21645
Node Kind: directory
Schedule: normal
Last Changed Author: kgoetzen
Last Changed Rev: 21551
Last Changed Date: 2013-09-02 12:04:30 +0200 (Mon, 02 Sep 2013)

When I run my analysis macro, I get a segmentation fault after 2000 events. The error is seen at the level of /RhoBase/RhoCandidate.h, line 170. All plots performed on 2000 generated events make sense. The analysis is the same as 2 days ago: ppbar to Ds- Ds(2460)+. [It does not mean that the problem is there, of course...but here is where I get the crash].

I was trying my macro over 5000 events.

I attach here the log file and the macro.

Thank you for any feedback.
Elisabetta

What about the speed?

Hi Elisabetta,

did you also update PndTools/AnalysisTools? You need at least rev 21013, where I fixed a bug with a missing truth pointer in PndAnalysis.

If yes, and the error still appears, I'll have to take a closer look to the problem again.

Best,
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

no I did not update that package because I did not know I had to do, honestly. You can image, I do not update my release every day...

I will reproduce again all the root files (sim, digi, reco, pid) and I run again the analysis macro.

About the speed: Stefano, the speed is normal and under control. I do not like that message related to the matrix with 0 diagonal elements, which happens quite often. I see that it could come from the Stt or the Emc package.

Hi,

I suggested it already some time ago in another thread, therefore I thought you might have done already... Wink

Best,
Klaus

I tried with the latest trunk, 5000 events without any error.
Of course it does not mean that the bug is not present...

Dear all,

before the suggested update something was running. Now I get:

Processing tut_sim.C...
FairRootManager::OpenOutFile("sim_complete.root")

My job exit without crash, but without simulating neither one single event.
I will stop to do any test until the end of the collaboration meeting. If anybody has any idea why in the rev21003 I managed to run my jobs, while now after the update of Rho, AnalysisTool, Emc nothing works, please say. Thanks.

See you in Bochum,

Elisabetta

Hi Elisabetta,

I just can tell from my own experience, that updating single packages sometimes leads to odd behaviour (in particular mixed with own modifications and after some longer time), whereas a complete new checkout of the repository worked in many cases. Or before doing that try 'make clean', just to be sure, that everything gets build properly.

The problem I guess is related to the issue, that we are lacking a release manager, who checks, which set of revision numbers for the individual packages work together.

Best regards, and see you next week,
Klaus
