Dear ...

We have a great batch farm, namely GridEngine clusters at GSI.

There are actually 2 different login nodes, which has a name Icarus and Prometheus.

In Icarus cluster one can find fairsoft and pandaroot under software repository /cvmfs/

What about Prometheus? I could not see anything for PANDA related. No chance to use this cluster?

Best wishes,
Donghee

Hi,

I don't know what you did, but the pnadaroot installations are at the same location also for prometheus.

ls /cvmfs/fairroot.gsi.de/panda/

pandaroot_apr13 pandaroot_oct12

Ciao

Florian

Dear Florian,

After accessing pro.hpc.gsi.de, I tried to make a link with fairroot.gsi.de/panda but there are nothing from my login session.

Quote:

dkang@lxsub17:~$ cd /cvmfs/
dkang@lxsub17:/cvmfs$ ll
total 0
dkang@lxsub17:/cvmfs$

For icarus case, I can find pandaroot under /cvmfs/ as you explained.

Best wishes,
Donghee

Even if the folder does not appear with ls, it does not mean that it is not present:

spataro@lxsub06:~$ ls /cvmfs/
alice.gsi.de
spataro@lxsub06:~$ ls /cvmfs/fairroot.gsi.de
Cad2Root cbm fairsoft fluka nustar panda
spataro@lxsub06:~$ ls /cvmfs/fairroot.gsi.de/panda
pandaroot_apr13 pandaroot_oct12
spataro@lxsub06:~$ ls /cvmfs/
alice.gsi.de fairroot.gsi.de

This is a general feature of gsi clusters, at least since 13 years...

Hi,

this is not a feature of the GSI, but a feature of the linux automounter ;-}}.

That is the reason why I asked to do a ls with the complete path

ls /cvmfs/fairroot.gsi.de/panda/

Ciao

Florian
