Dear all,
Today I have upgraded my Ubuntu to 12.04.

I have downloaded jan12 external packages, and I have found the following errors while doing the checkout:

A    jan12/transport/chetc.dat
A    jan12/transport/vgm_cmake.tar.gz
A    jan12/transport/xsneut.dat
Errore nella validazione del certificato del server per 'https://root.cern.ch:443':
 - Il certificato non è stato creato da un'autorità fidata.
   Usa il codice di fingerprint per verificare il certificato manualmente!
 - Il nome host del certificato non corrisponde.
Informazioni del certificato:

Ok, in italian, but you can see that the code is not downloading geant3 and vmc. The translation is:

Error in the certificate validation  if the server https::/root.cern.ch:443
- the certificate was not created by a trusted authority.
 Use the fingerprint code to verify the certificate manually!
- the hist name of the certificate does not correspond

If I try to compile it, of course I have the following error:

patching file plugins/scatter_mod/PSaidLowEnergy.cc
*** Pluto compiled successfully ***
*** Compiling Geant3 ................ 
*** ERROR: Geant3 could not be created.
*** End installation of external packages with Errors***

What is wrong? It was not appearing with my former 11.10.

Hi Stefano,

this afternoon the web server from Root was not reachable. Probably this was the problem. Please try to do an "svn update" in your jan12 directory.

Hi Stefano,

I build an tar archive of the necessary source code, which you can download from

http://cbmroot.gsi.de/download/jan12/fairsoft_jan12.tar.gz

Best is to use the following command to get it

wget http://cbmroot.gsi.de/download/jan12/fairsoft_jan12.tar.gz

For the installation one still needs an internet connection, since the Geant4 data files are loaded during the installation process.
