error when trying to load libraries [message #6593]

Hello all you wise men and ladies!
I'm brandnew in this field therefore I thought I could trust the online installation guide for fairsoft/pandaroot and did everything according to the instructions on the website (unpacking the files, setting the environment etc.), however when I try to run the demo macros, ROOT can't even find the appropriate libraries - what's wrong?? Maybe it's just some silly rookie mistake but I tried everything that I could think of and now I'm clueless...

Hi,
could you please write what is exactly the error you have?

Were you able to compile PandaRoot? The ./config.sh should load the ROOT environment.

Hi.

Stefano is right.

. ./config.sh
(with a dot in front)

in your /build or /cbuild directory should work

can you just try again?

P.S. another idea: did you maybe only type "make" and not "make install" (so the libraries would not be installed/copied to the correct place ...)

hm, looks like i made a mistake when installing the external packages.... building them again right now. let's see if it works then!

yippie! it works! it turned out that the libraries were not properly installed due to an improper installation of cmake... anyway, finally it works, thanks again!
