Dear All,

I have been trying to use EVO to join in with the pandaroot meeting for the first time. I have registered, but when I click on start, java opens, but with the problem declared below:

"An error occurred while launching/running the application.

Title: Koala
Vendor: Caltech EVO Team
Category: Download Error

Unable to load resource: http://nextgen-caltech.cern.ch/evoGate/koala/Koala.jar"

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Evie Downie

Do you have Java installed?
If not, try to search in google for your java website and download the package. Unfortunately I can give you the link to the italian one, but I think this is not what you need.

Ok sorry, I haven't read that the java window already opened.
I have the same problem just now, but I solved it just following what is written on the main page:

ALERT: Bug of Java 1.6 on MS Windows.
If you encounter problem to start EVO proceed this way:
In Start->Run...->Open: "javaws -viewer".
Go to preference and remove all versions of the Koala in the cache. Then, restart EVO

It worked for me.

Hi Stefano,

Neither I nor our sysadmin can get it to run on my Linux desktop (the error from before) and my windows laptop is unable to launch Koala. I'll try and seek out more local expertise and hopefully sort it out before the next meeting Confused

Thanks for the suggestions!

Evie
