Dear all,
in the trunk (27145) you can find now the package genfit2. It was moved from the development branch, and it coexist with genfit.
This means that you can run genfit and genfit2 in the same macro and compare the results.

In macro/genfit2 you can find some simple macro to use both.

This is the first implementation of the trunk, further checks need to be done before using it in production. Currently I have seen that the results are almost comparable to genfit, but we gain efficiency at low momenta. I have seen genfit2 is eating much more memory than genfit, not clear if it comes from us or from genfit2 itself. The DAF needs to be tested also.

For people willing to do some tests... enjoy!

Dear Stefano, dear all,

finally I found the time to start drafting some documentation, which can be useful to people who are willing to perform tests with genfit2. The first version of the document is in https://panda.gsi.de/system/files/user_uploads/e.prencipe/IN-MAN-2016-00 1.pdf

Every comment is more than welcome! Enjoy these 42-pages reading.

Best regards,
Elisabetta
