Dear all,

as suggested during the last panda meeting, I am trying to repeat my simulations on DsJ mesons using the fast simulation. Until now I always used the Full Simulation, with all detector included. I found instructions here:
https://panda-wiki.gsi.de/foswiki/bin/view/Computing/FastSimTutKVI#EvtGe n

but it looks a bit old and maybe it is not updated in the new release jan14.

I see in this link that I should produce myself a file.evt. Unfortunately, if I try to repeat what is in this EvtGen tutorial (updated in April, 2013):

https://panda-wiki.gsi.de/foswiki/bin/view/Computing/EvtGen

things are not working. For instance, I am using the standard release jan14. In the mentioned web page I read:

"In order to produce an output file just compile the file pandaEvtGen. In the main EvtGen directory just type:

make
make panda
. pandaEvtGen
"

It does not work for me. Then, I should ask: in order to run the macro of the fast simulation, located in /macro/fsim/simfast.c, what shall I do exactly? Please, it would be very helpful if you might suggest here how shall I proceed (with EvtGen and file.evt, with fast simulation macros, what I should set up therein....)

Thank you very much in advance for your kind help and your attention.

Best regards, Elisabetta

Hi Stefano,

thanks!
could you please say to me which trunk version? in Jan14, there is no folder /macro/scrut/
So, where shall I look for this, please?

Thank you in advance for your answer, Elisabetta

Hi Elisabetta,

Look at the trunk, not a release.
https://subversion.gsi.de/fairroot/pandaroot/trunk

Check with svn info which url you're using.

Cheers
Ralf

PS: Or check out a fresh trunk: svn co https://subversion.gsi.de/fairroot/pandaroot/trunk <folder>
