I would like to update you on the status of the ROOT5 vs ROOT6 comparison, presented by me on the last collaboration meeting in GSI.
In a process to confirm results I discovered that the FairSoft with ROOT5 was compiled with the debug flag turned on. This made the ROOT5 to run considerably slower.
After the recompilation without the debug flag the time performances of ROOT5 and ROOT6 are almost identical, as seen in the below table.
Sorry for the confusion I have introduced.
