Dear colleagues,

since there was a discussion about event mixing and trigger simulation on the past collaboration meeting, Bernhard has asked me to circulate a small technical note I have written in 2005 on the topic. Maybe you'll find some useful thoughts there.

I have not updated the note and there are some new insights which I got from implementing an event-mixing scheme for the TPC. In particular the event-mixing has to be done before the final detector-response is calculated inside the digitization.
The basic ideas though are there.
