Dear developers,

I am a bit puzzled about tracks with a PdgCode > 10^9. Does somebody know what they are?

I did a simulation with the box generator and two pions coming from the interaction point and momenta between 0.01 and 1 GeV/c.

In some cases the pion creates new particles with very high PDG codes:
TrackID: 1828 PdgCode: 1000140280 StartVertex: 13.0265/0.646198/5.33526 <- TrackID: 0 PdgCode: 211 0/0/0

Ciao,

Tobias

Hi Tobias and Sebastian these particles are ions
look at base/CbmParticle

fpdg= 10000000+10000* z +10 * a;

what i don't know is because, if they are produced why are not recognised by geant.

try with geant3, if it work
maybe these particles are not added for geant4 VMC.

It is strange because for me it works.Are you working with the development package(new Packages)

Maybe Mohammad can say something about it.

cheers ALicia.
