How do you actual set the field value?

When I successfully ran Glad, I used a negative field value. In the root macro, I had something like:

Float_t fieldScale = -0.68; // 15O +1p @ 1GeV
[...]
R3BGladFieldMap* magField = new R3BGladFieldMap("R3BGladMap");
magField->SetScale(fieldScale);
