Dear MVD experts.

I'm wondering about the operational condition of MVD near the interaction and beam pipe region.

Will be cooled inside the beam pipe by cooling system?
or just room temparature in vacuum?
I expect that the MVD itself will operate with some other cooling system and thus keeping much lower temperature.
Could you give me the rough value of expected temperature inside MVD at interation region?

Cheers,
Donghee

Hello Donghee,

I think your question is not put to the right place, since this is the software forum. However I'll try to answer as much as possible.

To be clear about the design of the MVD I'd like to point to the WiKi:
http://panda-wiki.gsi.de/cgi-bin/view/Mvd/MvdPublic

The Mvd is outside the beam pipe. Housed in Air, not vacuum. There is a cooling system forseen that takes the heat of the forntend electronics away. The Design of the cooling system is under study by now and you can find some information on the Collaboration meeting slides. I take it that you are not present in Stockholm.

Why do you need to know the temperatures?

Kind regards, Ralf.
