Olaf's finding, that physics or technical issues are barely discussed in the forum, can be easily verified by a look at the statistics.

Maybe this medium has better accepance when it comes to IT issues. So why not add one or two forums on GSI IT support in an appropriate cathegory ? Things like the RootTalk forum seem to work when there is somebody behind answering all the questions.

I think it's worth a try creating fora concerning IT infrastructure at GSI.

Shall we have a category called "IT Infrastructure"?
And which fora would you suggest?

I agree that a "Linux support" is a good candidate for a forum but IMHO an additional forum for general discussion about the linux installation would be a good idea (for requests/organization of new services aso.)
